For the record, as I was poking around in the folders for the Maxima
project on the Sourceforge web server, that there exists a copy of the
archives for 2000--2013 there, in the folder
/home/project-web/maxima/old-mailing-list-archives .

As it stands, those files are not visible via web browser since
old-mailing-list-archives is outside of htdocs. I decided against
moving those files to a visible place because they are not searchable,
so it's no improvement on the same files at Github, and there are
additional resources in the Maxima-References repo.

If we come up with a way to index and search the archives, I would be
glad to revisit that.
