Wow!
Times change!  If you feel good about what you are doing, that is a good
reason to continue!

I was unable to find the old article where (I recall) the authors
"enriched" their math class
  (I think group theory), and they reported the students did not like it,
and did not learn more.
The authors concluded that there should be more research funding so the
program could be improved.

That article came to mind when I saw the Monty Python skit ..
