No

I just updated, and totally rebuilt/installed maxima.
It works,
but describe seems to have been broken.

1. make install doesn't install the info pages, and
describe(...)
fails.
2. make install-info installs the info pages, but now
describe
simply returns FALSE,
I've tried describe("describe");
describe("log");

etc. all with the same behavior.

bug_report() gives:

Maxima version: 5.9.1.1cvs
Maxima build date: 20:23 10/12/2004
host type: i686-pc-linux-gnu
lisp-implementation-type: CLISP
lisp-implementation-version: 2.33.2 (2004-06-02) (built
3295213180) (memory 3306615823)

    The problem has gone away in today's CVS. You still have to
    run make install-info manually though (make install doesn't
    do it for you).

    I don't see this problem -- make install puts maxima.info
    /usr/local/info in a place where maxima can find it, and
    describe ("describe") and describe ("log") work as expected.
    I don't have to run install-info by hand. Not clear what's
    going on here, seems like I have a system very similar to
    the one for which the bug is reported.

    I'm closing this bug as I was unable to reproduce it on a
    system similar to that of the original report. We can
    reopen it if it reappears.

    Closing this bug as fixed (forgot to close it last I made a
    comment).
