#3614 edit,configure,style,fonts
Every time open maxima go to configure and it DOES NOT HAVE what i selected as defaults for font and in style it always comes back with for example 'Bold' and 'Italic' checked which i DON'T want but no matterwhat when i uncheck them, save it, load, anything it always comes back again with those checked and also NOT what i selected for fonts. Likely because you are putting information in C:\users.....\appdata....roaming and whatever else in nested directories under c:\users....there. Will you STOP putting information in C:\users.... Also do not put things in registry.

I assume the problem about the fonts is in wxMaxima (the graphical frontend)? Please report this to the wxMaxima bug tracker at: https://github.com/wxMaxima-developers/wxmaxima/issues
Concerning the registry and the homedirectory:
When you load packages in Maxima, they are compiled by the lisp compiler and the result must be written somewhere - which is a subdirectory of the homedirectory. Also there may be some initialization files for Maxima, which reside there.
In the Windows registry the installer (NSIS) writes some information, that must be there (so that you see Maxima in the list of installed programs, etc.). wxMaxima also seems to write some information to the registry, that might be in the homedirectory (can be reported to the wxMaxima bug tracker if it is really a problem).
But writing nothing to the homedirectory and nothing to the registry is rather impossible.

when you say home directory exactly where do you mean and shouldn't all of these problems with edit configure be in the style.ini file which is the one that comes up when one selects save ?
