You recommend Python(x,y) version v2.7.9. The current version at the link on the installation page is 2.7.10. This later version has VTK 6.0, which has many backward incompatibilities with earlier versions. I was able to find several problems (for example SetInput() becomes SetInputData()), but not all. Do you have a link to python(x,y) 2.7.9? I was unable to find it. Or, should one go all the way back to 2.7.3.1 as recommended a few years ago here. I am running under Windows 7.
Thank you!
Jonathan

Thank you for the response. I see that you are recommending waiting until December 14 for version 0.3.3 under another topic. I am anxious to explore MaxFEM, but perhaps I should wait for this new version?
Many thanks,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
You can find some external mirrors in the Python(x,y) download page (https://python-xy.github.io/downloads.html) where you can download older versions.
The mirrors are provided by:
NTUA: http://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/devel/pythonxy/
University of Kent: http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/pythonxy.com/
ConnectMV: http://pythonxy.connectmv.com/
The recommended version 2.7.9.0 of Python(x,y) is currently available in all of them.
Best regards,
