The colon after the INPUT statement causes the input to be echoed on the screen and does NOT suppress the <line_feed><carriage_return> when running in Windows XP

Suppressing echo for the INPUT statement only works with a telnet or ssh connection at the moment. It will *not* work with dos cmd prompt or unix shell.
