For those who don't remember how to get snapshots from sourceforge:

maven plugin:download 
-Dmaven.repo.remote=http://maven-plugins.sourceforge.net/snapshot-repository 
-DgroupId=maven-plugins -DartifactId=maven-cobertura-plugin 
-Dversion=1.4-SNAPSHOT

:)

I tested with Maven 1.1 and found no problems...
