Commit [r25947] Maximize Restore History

code to count link enter and link leave events per link and time period

the aim is to calculate the density (or the density difference between two runs) per link as the sum of link enter minus link leave events per time bin divided by the link length
but currently all link enter and leave differences per time bin are zero, i.e. the density differences for all links are zero
