Prevent flyaways caused by temporary loss of radio

When using waypoints a temporary radio failure results in the waypoint list starting from the begining. For a relative logo mission, the result is auto flight in an unpredictable direction.
If the aircraft has traveled beyond manual control range (by sight or radio) it is difficult to retrieve it safely.
What still needs to be decided?
How to fix it.
Suggestion: An optional hard coded RTL setting selected by either an extra channel, a 4+ position switch or another switch mixed into the first on the transmitter.
What still needs to be done?
??

This is not a bugfix request. It is an enhancement request for improved flyaway protection beyond the existing features.
Considering scope and users affected the priority is lowered and release changed to 5.x
