A very cool (and rather needed) feature would be to allow SPDIF output from MatrixMixer. If this would be possible (in full multichannel mode too?) then users could use any crapy soundcard as long as it has a spdif and still get superb audio from their audio system :)

Stereo mode should be most easy to implement (it is normal uncompressed PCM audio) but for multichannel I think we need to encode to AC3, DTS or MPEG-2 multi channel audio prior to sending over SPDIF? Or is there a multichannel PCM mode (is bandwidth over SPDIF enough for that)?

I agree that having SPDIF output would be a very nice added feature. I noticed that you do have this feature in the AC3Filter program that seems to use much of the same codebase. I was wondering if it would be possable to port the SPDIF output into this program? Thanks for the useful programs and all your work.
