Suggestions for MatPlotLib documentation

Gary Setter

Hi MatPlotLib.
I uploaded MatPlotLib_1_4_b.chm to this project. I want to explain what I changed from the 2-Aug-14 build and why.
First and most obvious, I replaced the main Index.html file Introduction section with The Origins Of MatPlotLib. I took what seemed me the the essence of why Mr. Hunter started the project. I hope what I saved what the most active part of the original paragraph.

I removed from the top of every page but the main index.html file the large bitmap at the top of the page. Html files on the internet can be thought of as independent documents, but chm files are one document with many dependent pages. The bitmap seems to me like cover art and it takes up more space then I would expect on every page of a document.

I removed the navigation links from the top of every page. The HtmlHelp Viewer is designed with a navigation panel. The navigation links are duplication and take up space.

I removed from the table of contents pane those pages that introduced a major section ( such as User's Guide) with a list of links. The table of contents on the navigation panel provides the same links.

I changed the css stylesheets to remove the margins around each page. The viewer provides some margin and removing them lets me see more content on the screen.

Best regards,
Gary Setter
