This looks like a makefile problem. Although once that is fixed I'm sure others will follow. These two lines in matlisp.mk tell 'make' that dgemm.o should be build from dgemm.f or dgemm.c (whichever one it finds) Perhaps the make on OS X doesn't understand this. But before that. Did you download the released tar'd file or did you get the files from the CVS repository.
