I am attempting to use a recently purchased 4C. The Tobii software runs fine and calibrates, however The most recent toolbox (TobiiMatlabToolbox3.1 - EyeX SDK.zip) fails to connect when running the experimental suite.
I receive the following error:
Warning: Unsuccessful read: The specified amount of data was not returned within the Timeout period.
SUCCESS: The process "cmd.exe" with PID 3852 has been terminated.
SUCCESS: The process "cmd.exe" with PID 2588 has been terminated.
I wasn't able to follow step 2 of the original installation instructions "Download the Tobii Gaze SDK" as it is no longer available. Should I be using the Tobii core SDK (http://developer.tobii.com/tobii-core-sdk/) instead?
I have the Instrument Control Toolbox and Psychtoolbox 3 installed.

Hi,
Same problem here (see PNG attached file),
A call to the tobii_connect function invariably results in a not found eye tracker.
How to solve this? As Lee, I am using a Tobii Eye 4C device. Psychotoolbox installed too.
For other potential users - it turns out that two of the .dll files for the MATLAB server were not included with the v3.1 zip file. Just download the v3.0 zip file and copy these across. Worked for me.

As Lee said, to make work the 4C you need to download the latest version of the toolbox (TobiiMatlabToolbox3.1 - EyeX SDK.zip). Extract files. In the matlab_server folder, you can see that it is missing the dll files and MinimalTrackerAsync.exe. Copy those files from the previous version (TobiiMatlabToolbox3.1.zip). Now from matlab run both .exe. And you it should be ready to use, HOWEVER, to use the 4C you need to turn on the eye tracker from the tobii software as shown in the snopshot.
Unfortunately the eyeX does not work with these steps but works perfectly with TobiiMatlabToolbox3.1.zip version.
I have the same issue as Lee described, although I have Tobii EyeX (development kit) instead of 4C. I've tried both the toolbox versions 3.0 and the original 3.1, as well as the new 3.1 - EyeX SDK, with missing files copied from the older versions, but nothing worked. I still get the error:
'Warning: Unsuccessful read: The specified amount of data was not returned within the Timeout period.
SUCCESS: The process "cmd.exe" with PID xxxx has been terminated.
SUCCESS: The process "cmd.exe" with PID xxxx has been terminated.'
Maybe the problem is that I couldn't download from the Tobii's site the Gaze SDK or the EyeX SDK. I'd be very grateful if someone could send me these SDKs or suggest a solution that also works with the above mentioned eye tracker.
