Yes, unfortunately. I just tried to bisect it.

I also had no issues before, (with Ubuntu 16, emacs 28 and Matlab 2020),
so may be this is an Emacs 29 issue.

I will try to sort this out tomorrow evening. It should be fixed before
including ELPA
