Hi,

  Mlint.el doesn't have anything to do with the shell mode.

  Perhaps you have found an older version of matlab.el?  The latest version is on sourceforge in CVS.  You can get it from http://matlab-emacs.sf.net.  Go to the project page, then "Browse CVS".  In CVS, you can download the latest versions.

  Also, it sounds like your Emacs has been configured to use C-h as a backspace key, and not for help.  When that happens, use F1 instead.

It did use to be the default, until that computer died, and I had to
build a new one, and re-install xemacs, matlab, and matlab.el.

When I do C-h, the cursor moves back a space, and then when I type the
k it just types a k. I am using matlab 2007b, and I did not install
your mlint.el file. Maybe I should have?
