I noticed that there is both a AWT and Swing version of the GUI. I would
like to add functionality to the GUI as part of adding configurable/custom
file search paths for m files.

Should i base the development on the AWT or Swing version of the GUI? Do you
really need both? I would have thought in this more modern environemtn that
Swing is preferred, can AWT be removed?
