#15 Cygwin Config Troubles (ATLAS 3.83)

Hi. I'm having some problems compiling ATLAS on Cygwin, and I was hoping that you could assist me in getting it working. Your help is much appreciated.

From bash, within a subdirectory I made called I run the command:

../configure -t 2 -m 2500 -Fa alg -fno-common --with-netlib-lapack=lib/lapack > configure.log 2>&1

FYI, I've already installed LAPACK from Cygwin's setup.exe (I think the version is 3.2.1). Also, I have a 64-bit version of Windows 7 -- not sure if this matters. And I have (via the BIOS) disabled Intel Speedstep. Processor is Core2 Duo 2.5 GHz.

The log of the errors is attached. It seems for some reason that it's not finding Cygwin's gcc? I have gcc 4.3 installed in Cygwin. Sorry if this is an easily fixable error, but I can't seem to figure it out. Once again, help appreciated!

Looks like ATLAS is dying because it detects a 64-bit OS, and then attempts to build for 64 bits, which does not work under cygwin. Can you try adding '-b 32' to your configure line, which will tell ATLAS to build a 32-bit lib?

If you need a 64-bit lib, unfortunately I am aware of no way to do this until cygwin supports 64 bits, or I have time to support some alternative windows build procedure.

    No response, assuming fixed.
