This is to announce the birth of matchmark, a small utility to 
magic-mark text matching a regexp pattern.

It's useful when tailing system logs and other files, and you're looking 
for specific items, but still want to see the bigger picture. It can be 
used to mark standard input, in shell pipes with tail and grep, or 
contents in text files on your system.

Matchmark is currently only accessible from svn, but I'll make the 
latest version available as an official tarball soon.

Matchmark is written in python. Feel free to suggest improvements using 
the trackers at sourceforge.net

Matchmark is licensed under the GPL, and released into the public domain 
in the hope that someone will find it useful.

The matchmark-users mailing list is currently the only mailing list for 
the project. I don't expect we'll need more than one list for this 
little project. Thus, this is the place for general discussion as well 
as official announcements.
