I've already sent this questions to Matthias, and forgot forward to the list. 1. I'm having a problem with sample rate definition. I generated a signal: *[s,t]=mataa_signal_generator('sweep_lin',44100,1,20 20000]* And then I measured the impulse response: * * *[h,t]=mataa_measure_signal_response(s,44100)* Since I have two microphones, *h* is a two columns matrix. The problem is that this matrix is of *h* have more rows than 44100. This is what I got:* rows(s)* ans = 44100 *rows(h)* ans = 52920 *rows(t)* ans = 52920 I understand why *rows(t)* is equal *rows(h)*, but not why *rows(t)* and * rows(h)* are different from *rows(s)*. It is beacuse of the null terms added? I need to solve this so I can use *mataa_deConvolve[h1,s]* and * mataa_deConvolve[h2,s]* (where *h1* and *h2* are the first and the second columns of *h*, representing the signals of both microphones). 2. Ignoring the problem of the sample rate, I tried to Fourier transform signals *h1* and *h2*. I can't do that because the vector *t *is not even spaced. This is what I got: *[H1,f]=mataa_realFT0(h1,t)* error: mataa_t_to_f0: t must be even spaced! error: called from: error: /mataa/mataa_tools/mataa_t_to_f0.m at line 40, column 1 error: /mataa/mataa_tools/mataa_realFT0.m at line 70, column 3 Hope you can help me! Hi there! Now I have everything working on Mataa. But I have some questions: I generated a sweep signal with 1s of lenght, sample rate of 44100 and frequency domain from 20 to 20000 Hz: * * *s=mataa_signal_generator('sweep_exp',44100,1,[20 20000])* Then I measured the impulse response of this signal: *h=mataa_measure_IR(s,44100)* Now I want to fourier transform this signal. I see that the command is: *function [H,f]=mataa_realFT0(h,t)* I don´t understand what value of *t* I must input. I tried 44100 but it not worked. Can you help me? Another thing: after that I want to generate this follow equation: Z=K*cosh(k.f)/sinh(k.f) where K and k are constants and f is the frequency. I want to generate an array of Z in function of frequency, but the number and values of frequencys must be equal to the results of my fourier transform signals H, because after all I will do some mathematical manipulations with both Z and H. How I assure the same number of frequencys? Can you help me in the generation of the Z array? Thanks! Rodolfo. |

Hi! I´m having some troubles with the use of MATAA with my interface (scarlett 8i6), because this interface isn´t recognized by linux. Windows 7 recognizes the interface, but presents a lot of problems with the MATAA. So I´m thinking in buy another interface (m-audio, for example). First, I like to know if MATAA will be able to perform what I need in my research, wich is: - Generate a sine-sweep wave and send it to a speaker; - Simultaneous recording the signal response via two microphones; - Fourrier transform these two signals; - Mathematically manipulating the results; - Plot the curves "signal x frequency". Am I able to performe this operations with MATAA + Octave? |

Hi Rodolfo I believe you issue is related to how your Scarlett device works with PortAudio. If you'd be interested to debug this a bit further: 1. Download the PortAudio code at http://www.portaudio.com/download.html. Get the file pa_stable_v19_20111121.tgz. 2. Extract the pa_stable_v19_20111121.tgz file. 3. Compile PortAudio according to the instructions at http://portaudio.com/docs/v19-doxydocs/tutorial_start.html. 4. Try running the PortAudio test programs in path-to-your/portaudio/bin/... in particular, the paex_record program might be interesting. Hi, I´m using the Mataa with Octave software in Windows. My goal is to measure the impulse response with an impedance spectrometer. I´m having some problems: - "mataa_audio_info" returns "API=UNKNWON". In a conversation with Matthias, he asked if I´m using ASIO, and the answer is yes. With "mataa_measure_IR", two warnings appears, saying that input and output are using an API other than ASIO. - I can´t tell if those problems with the APIs are the reason of my second problem: taking the impulse response, sometimes I get an error (can´t reshape 1x23061 array to 9x2562array), and sometimes I get the log of max amplitudes. Can anybody help me? Anyone using mataa in Windows? |

Hello, first of all - I'm fascinated about the possibilities of MATAA. If it works it could be a great software. My problem - I could not get it run - I have different soundcards in my pc an cannot select the right one within MATAA and tell MATAA to use the ASIO4ALL to talk to the soundcard.
