John, it would be very nice if the sort routines that are invoked upon clicking on the header row (FileName, Title, Artist . . . etc) would sort by two columns. What I am asking, is to let the user sort by one column, then by another. When the second one is sorted, the original order of the first sort is kept within the subsort of the second sort.
For a concrete example, using Excel, you can sort by two or three columns. I am only suggesting a very simple modification to the sort routines. I am only suggesting sort by the current column, and the last one sorted.

Ya, will try to make this an option for sorting behaviour one can set in the Preferences menu of the app.

II am a big fan of MP3 Tag tools Ver 1.2 (build 007). I use it for editing tags on MP3 downloads form the Usenet. Some contain 100 or more MP3s. The MP3 files "Track" data is often omitted ot scant I find that it would be a big labor saver to have a "Ttrack Renumber" function to update the "Track" field only ( in sequence for each file highlighted). ... It would also be useful to have "Yr_000" AND "Yr_00"available in the "Custom format" rename optioms. (ie 88_001" or "88_999").
