Currently I am involved with learning how to create modifications and models for a game called Homeworld 2 at Homeworld Complex. In learning the various processes I have come across a gaming engine called Unity that allows you to create for free a video game or other type of simulation. What I am suggesting is that a simulation similar to the Lunar Simulation be created for Mars enthusiasts. In the Mars Simulation called "Mars Reborn" players would engage in simulations where they would have to employ real technology or technology being created such as Martian Rovers that would be implemented into the simulation that would give players the ability to ride around in conceptual vehicles both land and air based. Other vehicle platforms that would be added would be remotely controlled RoboServe Units that would basically be wheeled or air vehicles that could be remotely controlled to explore various regions of Mars. But in order to do so the player would first have to create a hab or base so that a power supply was present in order to fuel the vehicles. Such a power supply could be considered theoretical but still applicable to use in the simulation if its processes actually created energy. Other areas would also need to be added would facilities where material would be gathered from Mars or the asteroid belt and then returned to a facility to be processed into material that could be used by the 3D Printing process to create the items needed for use on Mars. Still another addition would be the terraforming of Mars. This part of the simulation would take the various problems associated with creating fertile ground such as reducing the Ph level of the soil, adding compressed gas at various depths and volume comparable to gases that are found within Earths soil that provide plants with the necessary nutrients needed to grow along with developing a system where water is created by using the water found on both Polar Caps to water the plants. Basically the simulation would begin with the basics of creating a habitat on the surface of Mars where vehicles are used to explore Mars based upon satellite and robotic recon missions to the surface of Mars with the rest of simulations add-ons being added over time. If a player is able to function in the same manner as NASA in exploring Mars then more support will be gathered for future missions to Mars. Unity is free to use for basic services which makes its great tool for development until the point comes when the simulation is sold for profit. |
