A new simulation configuration dialog that allows you to configure
settlements when creating a new simulation.
A settlement map tool that displays a 2D overhead view of settlements
that can be zoomed, rotated and dragged. SVG images of buildings are
used to allow for smooth zooming.
The Mars globe in the Mars navigator tool is now mouse draggable.
The simulation time system has been improved with better time
pulse/real time synchronization.
Lots of bug fixes and performance improvements.
Version 3.00 is the first in a new development series where we're
planning to add more user interactivity to the simulation.
Please let us know if you have any problems with version 3.00.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked the release. The construction algorithms were improved so they aren't as salvage happy as they were in the last release. In my testing, the residents of an alpha base template settlement often refit a less needed building, such as a command & control building, into a more needed building, such as an infirmary, rather than salvaging a building completely. They aren't big on constructing entirely new buildings just yet, but that might come later as the settlement matures.
For the 3.01 release, we're mostly going to work on small improvements and fixes to the UI. Some new additions we're looking to make is areothermal (geothermal, but on Mars) power around volcanic regions (like Olympus Scarp and Pavonis Mons settlements). I'm going to add a couple of constructable areothermal power buildings. I'd also like to add a new settlement template where the all the buildings are built from local resources, rather then sent from Earth.
