So, I just downloaded version 2.65 and am running it.  The first thing I noticed was that a rover that gets stuck never seems to be able to get unstuck.  A quick look at the source seems to confirm this.
Are there any plans to fix this in the near future, or should I start thinking about possible solutions?

Yes, there is a solution in the CVS repository that will be in the next release, v. 2.7.  This release will hopefully be done within a few days, I just have one thing left to do.

This is a common complaint from people beta testing MSP.

Originally I planned on having a stuck vehicle send out an S.O.S. to the other vehicles and they would come and tow it out.  This came with it's own problems such as the rescue vehicles themselves getting stuck.

TheI solution I came up with that seems to work all right is that the ground vehicle has a built in winch that can be used to pull it out when it's stuck going over rough terrain.  This is a slow process and the vehicle only travels at .2km/hr.  When the driver reaches a point where he/she can drive at a reasonable speed again, the winch is removed and the vehicle is back to normal driving status again.  I find this works pretty good and still has the effect of dealing with rough terrain.

Random mechanical failures, garage maintenance, and field repairs are also added in the next release.
