The uptime and simulation time just stop updating, in fact everything stops updating, just randomly. At one point I was able to simply close to program and open it to revert to the last save and it would be fine for awhile, now everytime I open it up it dies within a couple minutes max.
What use is this thing if it's got a bug that stops it's internal clock from running?
Also your pause button doesn't work at all it never pauses or resumes the simulation.
I'm running the latest JRE on Windows7, 64bit.
What other information will help?

Now it just happens constantly, I click on anything, even just pan the map around in the navigator and the simulation stops, all the timers stop counting and things stop updating, but I can still click around any windows I want and do whatever I like it just doesn't advance time at all.

Hi yurameki. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this.
I'm guessing from your description that something got in a corrupted state in the simulation, causing it to throw and exception and halting the simulation (although not the user interface). This is why the clock doesn't progress after this point.
The simulation may have logged an exception stack trace in its log file that could help explain what happened. The log file is found in the <user home>\.mars-sim\logs directory, and should be the most recent log file. I'm not certain what your user home directory is on Windows7, but it should be something like C:\Users\<user name>.
The only way I know to get the simulation running again is to start a new simulation in the UI. If that doesn't work, the default save file <user home>\.mars-sim\saved\default.sim can be deleted and the project restarted to force it to create a new simulation. I know it's not a good solution as it doesn't fix the simulation you were running, but at least the simulation clock should start again.
Well I tried deleting the sim file, and that worked, I was able to run it for awhile, but I've got the same error again, just when I was starting to get really into it too, unfortunately :( any idea what's causing it??

I'm not exactly sure what's causing this problem and I haven't been able to replicate it yet. From the error you listed above, there seems to be a problem loading the ui_settings.xml file that is (or should be) in the same directory as your default.sim file: <user home>\.mars-sim\saved\
You might try deleting the ui_settings.xml file, then starting the simulation. This will force it to use the default user interface settings. When you close the program, it should save a new ui_settings.xml file in that directory.
I'm hoping the problems you are having might just be due to a somehow corrupted ui_settings.xml file.
Please let me know if this works on not. Sorry I don't have any other ideas just yet.

Update, it happens when I click on things in the Settlement Info window or when I open windows….hope that helps…

Thanks Scott, I went through the log files, the error that occurs in each is:
org.jdom.input.JDOMParseException: Error on line 16: Attribute "z-order" is required and must be specified for element type "window".
Hope that helps out, I'll try erasing the sim and starting a new one, hopefully will have better luck.
