Is this a bug or WAD?

    Szabtom - 2013-08-02

I noticed a couple of things during an aggressive Muscowy game I have just started:

    • annexed Tver and Yaroslav through war and I got 0 prestige and 4 (or 5) BB each, I dowed them directly and in separate wars
    • generals die after only a couple of years of active service, noticably during siege and battle, I had to buy 4-5 generals in a war
    • special help to vassal modifier does not disappear when the vassal is annexed (but expires at the set target date)
    • strange high african and tatar technology levels at game start, see screenshot here: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p96/Szabtom/EU3_4.png
The tooltip says Church Attendance gives +5 admin eff and another +5 if at least Tradition +1, while the manual says +5 if at least tradition +1 (so not 10 total). which one is true?

The alliance with the Papal state did not end when I lost control of the Curia even after 20 years

I did not modify anything in the BB department, those are the MMP2 values.

generals die after only a couple of years of active service, noticably during siege and battle, I had to buy 4-5 generals in a war

EU3 engine thing. Generals have a random chance to die, so they may die after 3 or 30 years, if they are involved in battles or sieges the chance of death dramatically increases. Nothing was modded there. As far as I know those mechanics are not moddable.

special help to vassal modifier does not disappear when the vassal is annexed (but expires at the set target date)

      Bug.

strange high african and tatar technology levels at game start

WAD. I have not modded anything there. Muslim and Asian countries start ahead in tech, this is historically accurate. Not necessary for all Muslim and Asian countries but overall and EU3 mechanics are based on broad "tech groups". Putting less advanced Muslim/Asian countries into their own tech group would be a lot of work and break balance.

The tooltip says Church Attendance gives +5 admin eff and another +5 if at least Tradition

This is accurate. The manual is called "Old Manual" for a reason. That manual was quite outdated even for the final version of MMP2 and it is even more outdated now. I.e. always trust the tooltips, not the manual.
Note that I have started working on a new manual, which unlike the old MMP2 manual provides very exact information. However, it is a gigantic task and I don't even have time to code at the moment. But what little documentation is already there should be accurate. Look at the /extras/new_manual folder

I got into a war while a Forge claim spy mission was in effect. The was did not include the target. The mission ended without notice during the war.

I took away 5 non-core provinces for only 1BB each - I do not recall if this is WAD in MMP2, or a bug. I had CB through a core province.

Again, I did not mod badboy stuff. You might confuse MMP2 with MMU. Note that the final version of MMP2 is in the "historical archive" here and works with the same EU3 version as Mare Apertum, so you can directly compare if you want.. and realize how much better Mare Apertum is ;)
