I am currently evaluating different test tools/frameworks for our organization and I am very much impressed with Marathon. I am also waiting for the release of Marathonite, since it has support for data-driven tests which is a must for us. It also helps that it has better support for applets and webstart apps. On the webpage it says that it will be released in March 2008, but since March now has passed and the page has not been updated I wonder what is going on? Is the release coming? Soon?
I also wonder if there is any support at all for database-verifying in Marathon/Marathonite. I mean, to get the whole test sequence we must first do some clicking and other user input in the swing application gui, maybe verify something in the gui after that, but most importantly then check the database to verify that everything is saved/changed correctly. I really like how the db-testing can be done with Jameleon, but it has no gui testing support. I am trying to find one tool that does it all, or a way to combine some tools, possibly by doing some coding myself. Any tips, hints or suggestions? If there are no db-testing possibilities in Marathon/Marathonite, do you think it is possible to use it together with some other tool that has this support, for instance Jameleon?
