For those with spanning monitors (I'm using two), Aleph One
should be able to *not* fade out the monitor it is not using.
That way, one can play on one monitor, and do something
else on another.

Also: Perhaps the HUD can go on one monitor, and the
gameplay on another, as a preference.

A1 currently puts up two windows. One window which blanks out
all screens, known as the backdrop window. And a second that is
actually used by the game to play in known as the screen_window.

It is a straightforward task to remove the backdrop window
altogether. But does anyone know the groundwork for putting this
in the preference file even if it's invisible to the gui for now?

    Who's our preference master?
