I recently installed Ubuntu Linux on my computer and went searching for Aleph One in Debian format, only to find an outdated 32-bit package (I use 64-bit Debian). Perhaps making a Debian package would help a bit.
I have a Personal Packaging Area containing unofficial Ubuntu packages.
* Go to the PPA at https://launchpad.net/~gjditchfield/+archive/ppa.
* Click on the link that says "read about installing", and do what it says.
* Use your favorite package manager to install package "m1a1".
* Run m1a1 from your launch menu, Alt-F2 launcher, command line, or whatever.
You can run the "alephone" command from the command line to play other scenarios that you have downloaded.
