Currently, Preferences files can't be transferred between scenarios because of the Environment section; the scenario ends up getting confused about which set of data files to use. Maybe the file format could be changed to keep the Environment settings in a separate file, thus allowing a user to copy the same prefs file into every scenario they install?
After that, it would also be convenient if AO supported having a "Default Prefs" file in the root scenario folder, thus removing the need to put the file into a subfolder or rename it.

The prefs are XML, so you can always edit a prefs file to contain only the pieces you want to copy to a new game. Aleph One already supports default prefs, some scenarios use it to turn on OpenGL.
Seems like the only thing truly necessary to transfer between scenarios is key prefs, and a load/save system would be more user friendly than copying files.
