Hi all, just wanted to remind you in case you're interested that the NARST conference submission deadline seems to be Aug. 15 -- the website is: http://www.educ.sfu.ca/narst/ I guess I've already missed the AERA deadline, oops! )-: Suzy |

Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

Hey gang- I am looking for someone to give me feedback on a paper I am writing. It isn't too long, just 12 pages or so; if anyone has some time to read it over in the next week or so, I could really use the input. thanks a lot. Scott |

Hi all, I know you've already gotten countless messages about this but I want to personally encourage you to register and attend GSE Research Day. You can sign up as an audience member and you will get a nametag and lunch, so even if you're just thinking of dropping by for a session or two, please sign up now. The day is Friday, April 2 (all day, I don't think the schedule is set yet). Professors are strongly encouraged to sign up as as well! http://gse.berkeley.edu/admin/events/gseresearchday.html Hope to see you there (if I manage to make it!) Suzy |

Although it's a PDF file, the filename didn't end with ".pdf", so some PCs might be confused by this -- all you have to do is change the filename, adding .pdf, and it should open. Let me know if you still have trouble! Suzy |

Well, everyone who didn't sign up yesterday got auto-enrolled in the mailing list, 'cos I figured out how to do it this time. So ignore previous emails saying you need to sign up. Also, if you need to send a message to the list, use this email: man...@li... Eric |

Hi everyone, I am presenting on Thursday and I will be talking about the measurement instrument that I am developing for the Wilson/Draney measurement class. Here is some information on my Construct map, which is a rubric of how to score responses based on a theory that there are differentiating levels of metacognitive awareness and understanding and that these can be placed on a hierarchical plane.--- I am sure this will provide for a fun discussion! I also attached a sorry excuse for visual representation of the metacognitive system, which could be termed "self regulation". The purpose of this is to try to get all of you to help me find a useful way to represent what I mean by a metacognitive system--- thinking about our thinking of group process as an object of thought in and of itself and using this information as a means of self regulation. See you Thursday! Marcela |
