Mantis Users, Another Mantis release for the 1.0.x branch. The main fix in this release is related to broken URLs that are generated when attempting to access an issue while not logged in or when deleting a note. It also has some other minor fixes. - 0007051: [bugtracker] Fix for #6869 / #7034 removes quoted "?" from arguments (thraxisp) - 0007298: [bugtracker] Port: bugnote_delete.php redirection fails (vboctor) - 0007299: [bugtracker] Port: Save login feature does not work (vboctor) - 0007300: [bugtracker] Port: Remember login always redirects to main_page.php (vboctor) - 0007143: [other] Port: checkin.php needs array_unique() (vboctor) Please take a couple of minutes to register in Mantis User Directory. http://www.mantisbt.org/directory.php Want to become a Mantis Sponsor? http://www.mantisbt.org/sponsors.php Mantis Blog http://www.futureware.biz/ Mantis Forums http://forums.mantisbt.org <http://forums.mantisbt.org/> MantisConnect - A webservice + a C#/Java client libraries http://www.futureware.biz/mantisconnect/ Regards, Mantis Team |

Hi, I recently installed MantisConnect and I'm having some trouble getting it to work right. I'm trying to implement a c# app and I have a few questions: 1. Should the url that you use when you create a new session be http://whatever/mantisconnect.php or http://whatever/mantisconnect.php?wsdl 2. I'm trying to query the list of issues in my database. If the url that I give ends in "?wsdl", then when I call session.Request.GetIssues() I get an exception "Possible SOAP version mismatch: Envelope namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/ was unexpected. Expecting http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/." If the url I use doesn't end in ?wsdl, then when I call session.Request.GetIssues() then I get an exception "Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'." I searched on google and read a few messages that this might be due to using a newer version of SOAP (I'm using .net 1.1, which I think only supports soap 1.1) but the strange thing is that before I call GetIssues() I also call session.Request.UserGetFilters() and that works right, so I don't know if it's a soap version problem or not. Any ideas what might be wrong? Thanks |

Mantis Users, Here is your chance to reward Mantis and its community :-) I was visiting the Mantis project page on SourceForge and I found a link "2006 Community Choice Awards - Nominate this project!". I clicked the link and was surprised to find out that Mantis is already a candidate under the "Development" category. It would have been great that project administrators would get a notification when such thing is launched, or at least get it when their project is included in the contending list! Anyway, the nominations will close on March 15th, only the top 5 will make it to the voting which will start on March 17th. Please take a moment to nominate Mantis, it will be a great way to raise Mantis profile in the community and give a pat on the back for all Mantis developers and contributors. Use the following link to nominate Mantis: http://sourceforge.net/awards/cca/ Regards, Victor |

Mantis Users, Finally, after about a year since we switched main development to Mantis 1.0.0 and after 8 alpha and candidate releases, the Mantis 1.0.0 stable release is out. The implementation of 1.0.0 included over 400 issues, so it includes a lot of new features, enhancements and security fixes. Although it is a 1.0.0 release, it is the 65th Mantis release. Some of the highlights of the release: - Installation script - Enhanced filters - Sub-projects - RSS feeds for issues - Sticky issues - Global Profiles - Permissions Report - My Sponsorships page - Improved compatibility with PgSQL and MS-SQL - Support for database configuration. - Support for project specific, user specific, project and user specific configurations. - Implemented GUI for some of the configuration options. - Lots of security fixes I'd like to thank everyone who have contributed to the 65 Mantis releases. Without your help we wouldn't be here today! Thanks to our users, developers, translators, contributors and sponsors. Now that Mantis 1.0.0 is released, we will switch our focus to Mantis 1.1. Hence, we will be integrating new features and contributions that are in the bugtracker. As usual your help and contributions are appreciated. Dear all: I need to find a specific string inside issues to avoid reporting duplicate bugs. The only function I've found to query the issue db using a text is mc_issue_get_id_from_summary but it doesn't works well for me because it compares the summary without wildcards. I changed it from $query = "SELECT id FROM $t_bug_table WHERE summary = '$c_summary'"; to WHERE summary LIKE '$c_summary'"; and now I can use MySQL wildcards. I know it's not fully backward compatible (now, searches are case insensitive and sql wildcards which were not used are used now) but I think this is a good feature to add. Maybe we could add another parameter to this function to match strictly (=) or with wildcards (like)? thanks in advance |

Hi all, This the release candidate for the 1.0.0 release. It contains about 70 bug fixes and enhancements. Major feature improvements include the addition of an installer to initialize the database and main configuration, support for custom actions in both the group and view pages, an option to put filter at bottom of display, or eliminate it entirely, and a page to review your sponsorships. Other changes include performance improvements compared to 1.0.0a3, major fixes for RSS, fixes to filtering, access control, and the signup page and much more. Localizations for several languages have been updated, and French-Canadian and Chinese Traditional UTF8 translations have been added. In addition, this release has undergone testing using MySQL and PostgreSQL, with initial testing using MSSQL. The latter two of these are marked as experimental in the installer, pending further user feedback. All 1.0.0x users are encouraged to upgrade to this release. Note that you will need to upgrade the database to add the new indices what were added as part of the performance improvements. The final release should be available within the next few weeks, once we receive some user feedback. I would like to take this chance to thank all those who contributed to this release. Also now is a good time to send your updates for Mantis localisation so that it can be integrated into the Mantis 1.0 release. I wrote several tutorials relating to 1.0.0x releases that I posted to my blog: http://www.futureware.biz/blog/ These include: - RSS Feeds in Mantis 1.0.0a3 - Customising Localised Strings in Mantis - Customising View Issues, Print Issues and CSV Export - Should Mantis support time tracking? - Creating Sample Data for Mantis Testing - Sponsoring issues in Mantis - RSS Feeds in Mantis 1.0.0a2 - Localising Labels for Custom Fields - Changelogs in Mantis - Enumeration Custom Fields with Dynamic Possible Values - Highlights of Mantis 1.0.0rc1 and others. To keep yourself updated with the latest Mantis news, I suggest you monitor the following RSS feeds: http://www.futureware.biz/blog/xmlsrv/rss2.php?blog=5 http://bugs.mantisbt.org/news_rss.php?project_id=1 Also checkout MantisConnect which allows remote access to Mantis via any programming language that supports web services. Please, if you have sent me an email during this period that I didn't respond to, please re-send it. Regards, Victor. |

Hi Vincent, > I would like to know if it is possible to use MantisConnect = on=A0Linux. My configuration is:=20 =A0 > - Mantis on Linux server > - All users=A0are connected=A0to Windows.=20 =A0 > So=A0is it=A0possible to install MantisConnect? If yes, can you tell = me how can I install it: what file are compiled on Linux... There are two parts to MantisConnect: 1. The webservice: This is implemented in PHP and can be deployed on any Linux/Windows webserver that can run Mantis. 2. Webservice client: This is the C# .NET library, at the moment, it requires .NET Framework v1.1 running on Microsoft Windows. So the applications that use MantisConnect must be Windows applications. The webservice can be installed by copying its files from the distribution to the server (eg: under http://www.example.com/mantis/mc/). Then you can use the MantisConnect files directory, or modify them/compile them as explained in doc/install.txt. Let me know if you have further questions. Regards, Victor. |
