If it's not, why is there two > different tables ? > You are correct, bug_table.id is usually the same as bug_text_table.id. There is a pointer (.bug_text_id) in the former to get to the latter. It is possible that they can get out of step since both id values are auto-assigned when the row is created. This arises, I believe, from storage issues in some databases. It is better to store large text or binary objects in their own tables because of the way tables are stored and indexed.
