at our company we seem to be MSSQL fans. We were very happy to see many
changelog entries related do MSSQL after the 1.0.0 release.
We have a quite large (25k issues on the last 6 months) Mantis
installation running on MySQL 4.0.x running on the same machine as
Apache/PHP (Debian Linux).
Do you guys think it is a good idea/possible to move the database (and
all data...) to a MSSQL server, running on another machine?
That would be a much more powerful machine running MS SQL Server 2005
SP1, but I'd like to keep Apache/PHP running on Linux.
I'm specially concerned with two common problems related to PHP/MSSQL:
large text fields (VARCHAR/TEXT) and error message reporting.
I'll be grateful for any advice!
