As you may know we're working for some month now on a server add-on
module for Mantis to implement the OSLC-CM standard (see ).
We're not done yet with everything (which ain't so bad as there's
nothing really available publicly to consume OSLC-CM... even though
Mylyn should implement it some day soon) but making some progress.
So this is just a short message to let you know that among the features
provided by such a REST server module, that will support both XML and
JSON formats or I/O, there will be useful bits for the construction of
We're currently developing the "delegated" creation / retrieval features
that are to be supported in OSLC-CM compliant servers.
These should allow a generic AJAX "client" to support creation of bugs
in Mantis through the use of an iFrame, that would be used for the user
to provide additional fields required by Mantis (even customized ones),
that the client may not know beforehands (it would even not know that
there's a Mantis server on the other end, only that it's OSLC-CM
compatible). Same would apply for filtering of bug queries on custom
attributes through AJAX.
Of course this is far from being operational, but could allow the
creation of interesting mashups when/if it works some day (working at
Any questions/comments welcome.
P.S.: when that's more or less implemented, we'll start thinking to
contributing the server as a "real" Mantis plugin/add-on and the
constraints of adding a new substential Zend framework code to Mantis,
and switching from our SVN in SF.net to git @mantisbt...
