I have a patch that changes the email system used from the current one to PEAR-Mail. It works great, and it also allows for AUTH SMTP functionality. How would I go about submiting this patch? -- Scott Carr OpenOffice.org Documentation Maintainer http://documentation.openoffice.org/ ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ |

Hi Scott, I don't think we should commit this patch at the moment. However, I would send it to Ken, since he and jlatour are working on the new e-mailing module. Although I think the plan is to use phpmailer rather than PEAR-Mail. Of course, ideas are welcome. Regards, Victor. |

Should I send it directly to them? The PEAR-Mail stuff works pretty well. My problem was trying to use AUTH with phpmailer. With PEAR-Mail, a quick 'pear install net-socket', and everything was ready to run. -- Scott Carr OpenOffice.org Documentation Maintainer http://documentation.openoffice.org/ Quoting Victor Boctor <vb...@op...>: > Hi Scott, > > I don't think we should commit this patch at the moment. I know Ken doesn't trust PEAR yet, considering it still too much under development. We might be able to add the functionality, though, giving the user a choice. Jeroen |

PEAR-Mail is being developed in conjunction with IMP (http://www.horde.org/) I have been using IMP for the past 2 months and it has worked flawlessly. One of the developers of IMP is also a maintainer for several of the elements of PEAR-Mail as well. I think of all Mail systems out PEAR-Mail is getting bashed more than anything else. I know there are alot of users of IMP. I'll send it to you on Monday. I don't have it available at this point. -- Scott Carr OpenOffice.org Documentation Maintainer http://documentation.openoffice.org/ Quoting Jeroen Latour <jl...@ca...>: > At 09:05 28-6-2002 -0500, you wrote: > >Should I send it directly to them? > > Go ahead and send it to me... > > >The PEAR-Mail stuff works pretty well.
