Manjaro 0.1.2 (internal development release)

The Manjaro Development Team is proud to announce another development release for internal testing.

As with this release we will ship Manjaro Linux in different flavours. There will be our standard XFCE desktop and Gnome or KDE to choose from. All our images are created by manjaroiso, a fork of archiso. With manjaroiso you can create a set of install medias each with a different DE on top. All versions have the same base and drivers stack.

We are glad to have Philip Müller as one of our core developers who supports our project in many ways. Thx flies also out to Guillaume Benoit for creating needed config files for our Gnome edition and his systemd PKGBUILDs helping us to use systemd as our native init-system.

Followed features we offer with this release:

  • KDE 4.8.3
  • Gnome 3.4.1
  • XFCE 4.10
  • Language support for english, french and german (optional languages installable from our repositories)
  • minimal CD images you can build your desktop on
  • a nice KDE DVD image with selected applications
  • systemd as our native initsystem (no initscripts needed)
  • Kernel 3.2.17 (3.3.6 optional)
  • Phil's CLI Installer
  • Phil's basic hardware detection

We will focus now on our theming and hardware detection plus GUI installer.
Please test all our flavours and report back your findings. Our main-focus will be on the XFCE editon.
