I misread the mysql distribution# as the server version that was actually 3.XX. I have since installed Mamook using mysql _server_ version 4.1.11 successfully; however, some mods to the mamook.sql were still necessary. I can provide the modified mamook.sql script if anyone is interested.
With this nightly snapshot, (I'm now using mamook_20070106.tar) must I run RC4_to_RC5 scripts? Or, are all the RC5 updates already included in the mamook.sql?

If you're using the nightly snapshot, you only need to run mamook.sql once because it's not considered Mamook2.0RC4.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing what you had to change to get mamook.sql to work, simply because I don't run that file very often. You can e-mail it to chan at mamook dot net.

Trying to install a recent snapshot of Mamook (mamook_20061226) I get the following error executing mamook.sql:
ERROR 1064 (00000) at line 351: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 39
I can resolve this error but other errors then appear. Any ideas? Version issue?
An RC4 install went fine, so I tried the RC4_to_RC5_a.sql update from mamook_20061226 and received this error:
ERROR 1064 (00000) at line 36: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 COMMENT='Authentication Type Table'' at line 6
I am using MySQL 4.1.12
This was a version problem.
