Support windows native perl, and support the various
windows compiler command lines (have to write a new
scanner for them).

This is probaly the only thing that stop me from using makepp
for our projects. We need native support on Windows with
abillity generate dsp/dsw files from makefiles.

The latest CVS version still doesn't handle ActiveState Perl, but alternately
to Cygwin, MinGW is now supported.

Support for all Windows Perls has been rather good these last years.

Cygwin has a few minor bugs (like 5.8.7 can't delete environment variables and 5.10.1 claims chmod-0 files are readable -- which is a Cygwin bug, they really are, but this breaks the repository exclusion mechanism most people aren't even aware of).

As for ActiveState and Strawberry, there seems to be no way of implementing parallel builds (--jobs / -j) because their fork/exec emulation is too lacking.
