The much improved mailsync version in CVS has problems with the "mh" format - possibly due to problems within the c-client library.
Developpers that are using "mh" as mail repository format that could fix the problem would be VERY, VERY appreciated, so that we can finally make a new release.

If you witness any problems with mailsync, than please test the CVS version of it which features much improved folder support.
You will need automake 1.6 to build it.
Gentoo users need to set:
export WANT_AUTOCONF_2_5=1
export WANT_AUTOMAKE=1.7
due to some curiosity in Gentoo's setup (see the ML archives).
Thanks,

There seems to be a problem at sourceforge with respect to downloading the mailsync_4.5.orig.tar.gz file. While that's the case you can fetch it from here:

Many RH (especialy 7.1 it seems) users would be happy if there was a rpm to download.
So gentle souls, who'd be able to compile and pack up mailsync in rpm format would be _very_ wellcome.

You should be now able to see "new" messages in mutt. Please use "-n" for that and do read the README please.
unless you are upgrading and have an already functioning setup:
I strongly suggest you use the new version.
It contains a fix for a bug that would delete the contents of your box the second time you sync, if your box was not writeable.
Mailsync would not notice it and assume the copying went fine and would delete all the messages at the source mailbox the second time you sync since since they would not be in your destination box it'd think you had deleted them.... read more
we're planing to close the forums and move them to the mailing
list instead. It'd be nice to have the messages from the forum
moved to the mailing-lists somehow. We'll see if we find a nice way to do this.

mailsync has a CVS tree now. Anybody wanting to hack on
mailsync is wellcome to post patches against this tree.
All users of mailsync on UNIX mailboxes (local files) should upgrade the c-client library to RELEASE-CANDIDATE.3. There is a bug in the previous version of c-client that apparently causes mail to be deleted when it's not supposed to be. See http://mailsync.sourceforge.net
