After a really long time without one, I've put out a new release. The point of the release was to move to C++. There aren't any updates yet beyond that.
There hasn't been an announcement in a while so I thought I'd share what's been going on.
I haven't had as much free time as I'd like lately, so development has been slow. What I have been doing when I have time though is work on the mail_import.c program. It takes a normal UNIX spool file and puts in the database. I'm rewriting the way the program works multiple times, which isn't helping things.
New files are src/create.sql and src/mail_import.c. The SQL script creates a messages table. The mail_import.c doesn't really do anything yet, but it's going to be used for importing UNIX spool files into mailserv.
I've uploaded mailserv into CVS. Hopefully I've got this right. I've been using RCS for years but this is the first time I've worked with CVS. Download the mailserv tree. The mailserv-0.1 tree was a mistake that will hopefully soon be deleted.
Before I get to work on database integration with MySQL, I thought I'd go ahead and put out another pre-release. Now I'm working on designing the database layout. For the 0.1 release I'd like to be able to open pine and view a single message from a MySQL server.
I went ahead and put out the code I've been working on. It's not very good and it doesn't do much at all, but it's there for public consumption!
