Hi everybody, I wonder if is there any DEFAULT_HEADER_FILTER_RULES setting so that all new mailing lists have a default ruleset for filtering spam. If not, what is the recommended way to get these rules added to all lists? Or must I add the rules manually to all my mailing lists? Thanks for your help! |

Hi guys, I hope some of you can help me with this problem. Currently, I'm running postfix with the setup described in postfix docimentation as "Postfix virtual MAILBOX example: separate domains, non-UNIX accounts" I've found that the only way to get mailman working in this scenario, is creating a subdomain like lists.example.com and indicating this subdomain in the mydestination parameter. So far, everything works great. The problem is that I'm now creating manually an alias for each list in the virtual table, so if I have tes...@li... I setup an alias so that tes...@ex... maps to tes...@li... Is there any way to have these mappings created automatically? Is there any way to use mailman with postfix virtual mailboxes withouth a subdomain? Thanks. |

Hi, I've read that one of the mailman's features is: # Integrated Usenet gatewaying. Does this mean that I can access a mailman's list through the nntp protocol? Where can I find some documentation about this? Thanks. |

The support here has all but dried up, I'd help if I could but I've never hit that error. MailManager went closed-source and now they charge a fracking fortune for it. Greetings- I am trying to find out if Mailman can be installed on a 1&1 Business level Shared Linux hosting package. I have discovered such things as this: http://www.mail-archive.com/mai...@py.../msg34897.html Which makes it sound like since 1&1 has separated servers into Web / Mail / Database that it is not possible to install Mailman. That makes Mailman sound like it is intended for servers smaller than a $10 per month plan... or dedicated which is out of the budget. We have shell access. We can set up cron jobs. I know the hostname to an internal SMTP that does not require authentication to connect to it. (Useful for things like setting up an email list server.) I guess I am a bit bewildered by such posts (like the above URL) as I have managed to dig up. Along with... Steps in the installation that speak of a requirement to add a user and a group: http://www.list.org/mailman-install/node4.html Changing group ownership of the directory: http://www.list.org/mailman-install/create-install-dir.html Can I not just skip those steps since this is a shared hosting environment? Please advise. -- Michael Lueck Lueck Data Systems http://www.lueckdatasystems.com/ |

We just rolled out MailManager to our customer service folks and have run into a problem. When clicking to download an attachment from a ticket, all they get is a 0 byte file. I've tried to troubleshoot this one but I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. We're running: MailManager 2.1 Postgres 8.2.3 Zope 2.7.9-final Python 2.3.5 Apache 2.2.4 w/FCGI Debian Linux I've looked at the mm_attachment table and the attachments seem to be making it into the body field. I don't know of a quick way to extract them from the database so I can't say if they're intact (but I assume they are). I looked at AttachPluggableBrain.py and nothing jumps out at me. Nothing appears in the zope or apache error logs. Does anybody have any ideas where I might look next? |

Hi Kevin, I haven't heard from the mailmanagers-users list in some time? So I thought I wouldd email you directly! I have mailmanager 2.1 (2.1.rc7) running on a RedHat fedora core4 Linux machine. I recently put a client in production on it despite the problems we are experiencing with it. Can we work out a deal for you to look over a list of these problems and point us in the direction of how to solve them? Our own resources are stretched thin these days so could we buy a few hours of your or someones time to help us solve them! Please give me a signal that LogicalWare is still "alive" over there and which way to go with my problems? Thank You so much! Dick Calhoun InterMedi@ Marketing Solutions Ofc. Ph: 610-701-9654 |

Kevin, Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I ended up running a "VACUUM FULL;" on the database, after which full performance was restored. Sam, Please see the deleteTickets.sql method which should show what tables need to be altered in order to delete tickets. Deleting tickets from the database will improve performance, particularly in the 2.0 series where the full text index is stored on the mm_ticket table. As for performance issues, there are many performance issues which exist in the 2.0 series, which were resolved in 2.1 an 2.2 which is in development. I would certainly recommend looking at 2.1 if you are having problems. 20k ticket is not a relatively large number of tickets compared to our production installations so this should be something which can be resolved.
