I'm looking at using Magpie for Yet Another Blogroller and I've come
across the little issue of feeds without dates (e.g.
http://www.kuro5hin.org/backend.rdf). Now, in these cases the smart
option is probably to assign the 'now' date to all items the first time
a feed is read, and then every time you update, all new items get the
current date set as their 'date of posting'. Heck, even if you want to
do that some other way, you end up with some additional info about feed
entries that you want to make persistant across multiple runs of the
So, I'm wondering if there's any way to store this within Magpie - given
as Magpie is storing feeds in the cache anyways, can I add arbitrary
data items to the data structures for the feeds and get that data to be
persistant? Or if not, is this something of enough general interest to
get considered for addition to Magpie?
