I had this same problem, it looks like the driver/hardware doesn't like the C3 processor state, possibly it's the bus mastering effects of ACPI C states but I don't know for sure since I don't know ACPI very well. I've run into similar issues with processor speed stepping also, so it might be a timing dependant failure also. The hardware I have seems to get pissed off on my T40 in other situations as well. RX seems to completely stop in some network loads and will be kicked free (sometimes) by the beacon miss timeout initiating a scan, sometimes that timeout interrupt doesn't seem to occur though and I have to manually force a scan to kick the RX back into operation. as far as I can tell from the lists here, this seems to only happen on thinkpads since I don't think I've ever seen others complain about these issues, and I haven't seen much comment by the developers on what may be causing them either. -- Gerald |
