Thank you. I did as you said and I am now asocciated to the AP (my client adapters MAC shows up on the associated client's table). I cont seem to be getting an IP address though. In fact I dont see an ifcfg-ath0 at all. And if I do ifup ath0 it says /sbin/ifup: configuration for ath0 not found. Do I need to manually create that file? When I do ifconfig though, ath0 shows up. Subject: Re: [Madwifi-users] FW: installing Proxim 8470-WD Tony, The module is loaded and your card is detected. Use "iwconfig" to set an SSID. (I.E. iwconfig ath0 essid "your network name here" You'll probably also need to bring up the interface with "ifconfig ath0 up" But other than that it looks fine. - Terry On Jan 15, 2004, at 12:55 PM, Huebel, Tony wrote: Hello, I am trying to use an orinoco b/g gold card with Mandrake 9.2. I tried doing insmod wlan/wlan.o insmod ath_hal/ath_hal.o insmod driver/ath_pci.o, but each one told me "a module named <*.o> already exists.
