I just updated from Debian sarge to etch/sid which pulled in kernel 2.6.12. Trying to stave off potential problems I updated the madwifi drivers to the latest from CVS. However, I didn't associate when I came back up. I did find that I could associate with 802.11g with a 64-bit key. I could not associate with 128- or 152- bit keys, nor with any variation of 802.11a. Oddly, I also didn't associate with encryption turned off. I have a D-Link DI-774 wireless router/AP, which supports 802.11g and 802.11a. Any thoughts on getting my 802.11a with 152-bit WEP encryption working again? Alternatively, I see a firmware update for the router that supports WPA. I also see that the atheros driver might be supporting WPA. True? Do the Debian wireless tools support it? Is upgrading to WPA possible and would it be worth the trouble? -- Bill Wohler <wo...@ne...> http://www.newt.com/wohler/ GnuPG ID:610BD9AD Maintainer of comp.mail.mh FAQ and MH-E. Vote Libertarian!
