Hi all. Today I noted a strange behaviour of a client using a a/b/g MiniPCI card (5212). I'm using madwifi CVS as of 2004/04/15, Kernel 2.4.26, the host is an x86-System running a Natsemi Geode SC1100 cpu. The AP during my tests is a Lancom Systems L-54ag, also working with Atheros 5212. The card works with countrycode = 0x114 (Germany) and outdoor=1. When the card looses the AP (for example because I turned off the power for a minute) while being on a 2.4 GHz channel, it will start to scan 2.4 and 5 GHz channels for the AP without finding it even after the AP is back again. The following actions cause the card to see the AP again: 1. issuing "ifconfig ath0 down up" 2. switching the AP over to one of the 5 GHz channels, no matter which one When the card looses the AP while working on 5 GHz, it will find the AP after it comes back online. No matter, if the AP then works on 2.4 GHz or on 5 GHz. This behaviour is fully reproducable for me. I'm wondering if anyone else will see this in his own setup. If more information on the settings are needed, please let me know. Is this a known problem? Bye, Mike |
