Hello, I am experiencing some troubles when insmod'ing ath_pci on my Intel IXDP425 board. I am running Snapgear 3.1.1 and Atheros 5212 running on a miniPCI board and loading segfaults like this: # insmod wlan Using /lib/modules/2.4.24-uc0/kernel/drivers/net/wlan.o wlan: 0.7.3.1 BETA # insmod ath_hal Using /lib/modules/2.4.24-uc0/kernel/drivers/net/ath_hal.o Warning: loading ath_hal will taint the kernel: non-GPL license - Proprietary See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules ath_hal: 0.9.8.6 # insmod ath_pci Using /lib/modules/2.4.24-uc0/kernel/drivers/net/ath_pci.o ath_pci: 0.8.5.5 BETA ath_pci: 0.8.5.5 BETA ath_pci: cache line size not set; forcing 8 mfl: i am here if_ath.c:189 Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 4bff000c pgd = c0e34000 [4bff000c] *pgd=00000000, *pmd = 00000000 Internal error: Oops: f5 CPU: 0 pc : [<c2893ca4>] lr : [<c2893984>] Tainted: P sp : c0e4fdbc ip : c0e4fde0 fp : c0e4fddc r10: c0286000 r9 : c0e4fe4c r8 : 4bff0000 r7 : 00000000 r6 : c0286000 r5 : 00000000 r4 : 00000013 r3 : 00000013 r2 : 00000002 r1 : 00000013 r0 : 4bff0000 Flags: nzCv IRQs on FIQs on Mode SVC_32 Segment user Control: 39FF Table: 00E34000 DAC: 00000015 Process insmod (pid: 22, stack limit = 0xc0e4e368) Stack: (0xc0e4fdbc to 0xc0e50000) fda0: 00000013 fdc0: 00000000 c0286000 00000000 c0286000 c0e4fdf8 c0e4fde0 c2893984 c2893c84 fde0: 00000013 c0e3d000 c0286000 c0e4fe30 c0e4fdfc c288f678 c2893974 00000cf1 fe00: c0051758 00000d0d 00000000 c0e3d000 c0e3d000 00000013 ffffffea c0e4e000 fe20: c28abdfc c0e4fe44 c0e4fe34 c287f4d8 c288f5b4 c0e4fe4c c0230de0 c0e4fe48 fe40: c287f07c c287f434 c0e4fe4c 000000bd c28a528c c0e4fe64 000001f0 c0230de0 fe60: c006b064 00000cc2 00000000 c01c66a8 000001f0 4bff0000 ffffffea c0e4e000 fe80: 00000000 c01c66a8 c0230ba0 00000000 0000001c c28a5808 c0e3d000 c0277000 fea0: 4bff0000 4bff0000 ffffffea c0e4e000 c28abdfc c0230de0 c28aa870 c0e3d000 fec0: 60000008 c28abdfc c28abe8c 00000000 c0277000 ffffffea 00072ef0 c00f8cd4 fee0: c0277000 c28abe8c 00000000 c019b0b4 c00f8d40 c28ac258 c28a5000 c0d77000 ff00: 00000060 c28aaa08 c28a5080 c28ac258 c0052a2c 00000007 c0d77000 c0e3d000 ff20: c28ae000 00000060 c287f000 c28a5060 000072d0 00000000 00000000 00000000 ff40: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 ff60: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 ff80: 00000000 00052848 00052848 00048750 00000080 c00455c4 c0e4e000 000072d0 ffa0: 00000000 c0045400 00052848 c004537c bfffedb4 00072ef0 00000000 00000060 ffc0: 00052848 00052848 00048750 c28a5000 bfffedb4 00000002 000072d0 00044464 ffe0: 400db6b0 bfffbbfc 000162b0 400db6bc 60000010 bfffedb4 ffffffff ffffffff Backtrace: Function entered at [<c2893c78>] from [<c2893984>] r6 = C0286000 r5 = 00000000 r4 = C0286000 Function entered at [<c2893968>] from [<c288f678>] r6 = C0286000 r5 = C0E3D000 r4 = 00000013 Function entered at [<c288f5a8>] from [<c287f4d8>] Function entered at [<c287f428>] from [<c287f07c>] Backtrace aborted due to bad frame pointer <c0230de0> Code: 11a03001 03e03000 e50b3020 e5900014 (e590300c) Segmentation fault # It seems that a call to ath_hal_attach() in if_ath.c is the showstopper. I have tried all available versions of the xscale-be-elf with the same result. I have also tried a different miniPCI-card with the same chipset, but with no luck. Does anyone have some suggestions on how I could resolve this? - Martin |
