I have ar5210 based proxim PCMCIA card. I try to run it with last cvs
version but dos not successed it give me in my syslog
Unable to setup hardware queue for WME_AC_BK traffic
when I insmod ath_pci.o (using 2.4.28 kernel)
So.. I test some older CVS (from 2004-09-29) and with it card works fine.
Then I try to make a link with two of these cards over 34km (I know it is
very much but in theory it could work 802.11a standart should work to 61km)
for that distance...
slottime = 122
acktimeout = 247
ctstimeout = 247
(I get the formula from athctrl.c)
I found that I can't write bigger value than 204 in
nor in /proc/sys/dev/ath0/ctstimeout
(I do echo "XXX" > /proc/sys/dev/ath0/acktimeout I'm not quite shure but
sysctl do the same athctrl too)
when I write 122 in slottime it show 18 (the max value for slottime can be
104 then begin from 0 to growing)
for 102 slottime and 204 acktimeout distance is between 28km and 30km.
where come from this limitation ? driver ? kernel (2.4.28) ? card firmware?
is there any chance to write bigger values from this to acktimeout ?
(I know for microtik and staros they are linux based and the work over
40km links very nice)
