I recently picked up an x86-64 laptop and am running SUSE 9 in 64-bit mode.
Needless to say, this has cause me some grief with binary-only kernel module
Smartlink winmodem [kinda figured]
VMWare [big disappointment since the modules are all source]
Which brings me to you guys :)
Everything works well on the compile end except for the fact that ath_hal.o
is a 32-bit binary. I understand that this is not a proprietary-source
issue, but rather an FCC reg.
I would like to get the WiFi working on this boc. Would it be possible for
you to send me the source so that I can compile, and send you back, an
x86-64 binary for this file? The end result would still be
non-user-configurable, though I admit there will be an element of trust
involved that the FCC might not like. The alternative is that I give you a
compiler-enabled shell on my box, though since I am on a modem line these
days that is not the best option.
AMD or SF might have an x86-64 box available for compiling as well.
In any case, if you can help me get a 64-bit version of this object file, I
would greatly appreciate it.
