I have a server that used to act as an AP to my local net (and working
fine), howver I have moved, and there are cables in place here, so I
just let it sit there...
Now I have a mobile phone with wifi, and I can't seem to connect. As a
matter of fact, hostapd doesn't even register my trying, even with -dd...
Trying to connect from my desktop, though, I found out that it doesn't
work either, though hostapd does log something. From that machine, it
seems that I get the first handshake and send back the reply, though
from hostapd's point of view, replies to handshakes timed out.
I seem to remember to have seen both symptoms describe on the bug list,
though I can't seem to find them again, and that the one was caused by
the other or something...
The AP is unaltered ubuntu 8.10, meaning hostapd-0.5.10, madwifi-0.9.4.
Mobile is win mobile 5 (trying to get Linux on it, but so far no wifi,
sound or gsm).
Desktop is heavily altered and upgraded Ubuntu 8.10, meaning
I have tried different cipher suites and EAPOL versions, but especially
the fact that it doesn't even log anything for the mobile in -dd makes
me suspect something at a lower level than hostapd, and that would
possibly mean madwifi...
Thanks in advance,
I've never had major knee surgery on any other part of my body.
